Creating a goal
Creating a goal is the most effective way that I've found to motivate me in training. I usually try to pick a 5 or 10 K, or something else at different intervals throughout the year. That way, I know I have to keep training so that I'll perform my best and not get injured.
What types of motivation or goals do you use to keep you training?

Re: Creating a goal
Great Comments Julie..... Goals Truly have to be challenging yet attainable and realistic.... Write your goals down or log them in at My Home Personal Trainer and look at them every single day... Track them, Set a Time line and continually re-evaluate your progress.... Make adjustments as you learn what is or is not working...
Reach Your Goals and Set a New Standard of Goals moving forward.....

Re: Creating a goal
I agree with having goals before you. When I am training for race I stick with it. When I am not it is only a matter of time until other "priorities" take over. I am hoping to run the 2008 NY Marathon. That should keep me motivated for the next year.
